May May May

Why does May always seem like the busiest month of the year? The school year wraps up as well as Spring sports and dance and we find ourselves running to and from as fast as we can. We loved watching Isabelle present her GT project at the District Expo and the fact that she wore her leotard to present was the icing on the cake. We had fun watching Leo's first season in Tball, played kickball with the neighborhood, started swimming lessons and celebrated Mothers Day and my own mom's birthday! Ben and I snuck in a date to the Dave Matthews Band concert and we saw Isabelle's art in the District Art Show. Mostly we loved riding our bikes and being together as a family like usual. We survived another May and were mostly ready for June...

Pre K Graduation

I had such anxiety about Olivia's Pre-K Graduation and the tears started flowing for me before Olivia even entered the chapel. I have had such a hard time knowing that my baby is growing up and it makes it worse that she resists getting older too. I gained my composure thankfully after a few minutes and we all enjoyed the cutest mini graduation program. They sang songs, recited prayers, received diplomas and shouted hooray. Grammie and Grandpa were there to make the night even more special and Olivia loved all of the attention. We are proud of you little Livi. Your future is so bright!

Kids of the Kingdom

Olivia was blessed to attend Pre-K at Kids of the Kingdom this year. It was a fun and loving environment and I knew that she was safe when I dropped her off every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this past school year. She had wonderful teachers, Mrs Christina and Mrs Vicky, and they both taught and loved Olivia so much. I was grateful for their nurturing classroom and they were an answer to my prayers for little Livi.

For their end of year class party, Olivia was awarded with the "Excellence in Math" award and I was not surprised. Her nickname in the class was the " pattern queen" and she has really excelled in mathematics this year. After the fun award ceremony, the kids loved taking a ride on a mini-train as a class. Isabelle happened to be home from school that day and even got to hop on for a few minutes for a ride herself.

Kids of the Kingdom, that's where we are. Kids of the kingdom, that's where we are. We love Jesus, we love the Lord! We love Jesus, we love the Lord!

Ho Hum April

It seems like this year I am blogging about months at a time as fast I can. Life never seems to slow down and I find myself craving the quiet moments when it is just me and my little family. April was as busy as the months before and once again it is a good thing I had my phone handy to catch some of the fun. Olivia went to Frozen On Ice for her friend Annie's birthday party, we finally saw the new movie Cinderella and loved it and Isabelle continued to play (and improve) soccer. Isabelle visited the ENT once again and sits so much bigger in the chair when she started visiting there before a year old, Olivia loved having play dates with Leo and I went to the Spring Fling with Olivia at preschool. Sadly there was one day this month that was tough for all of us. My Uncle Hal was buried and we all shed many tears thinking about one of our favorite people being gone from this life. I cannot think of a time when I didn't know Hal loved me and I always loved visiting him. He was always happy to see me and loved Ben the moment he met him. The world got a little bit sadder the day he passed away but of course we are glad that he is healthy and happy now with his parents and wife. We always knew he and Janice would not live long apart and we were right. Once again we have been reminded this Spring that we are blessed to be an eternal family. Families are forever.
