Easter Weekend

Easter has always been a favorite holiday for me and the older I get, the more I appreciate this special weekend. The reason we celebrate mixed with the family traditions ranks it pretty high up on the Cosby fun list. This year we celebrated the holiday with a camp out in Grammie and Grandpa's backyard. It was the prefect type of camping for me and the girls and Grammie arranged a huge Easter egg hunt in the morning with treats, money and prizes filling the eggs. We ate yummy food and too much candy and all came home happy, dirty and tired. The Easter Bunny found us the next morning and the girls were thrilled with their baskets and loot. We finished the holiday off dyeing eggs while we listened to General Conference as a family. What a happy Spring in the Lone Star State!

March Madness - 2015 style

March was busy busy with non-stop action and fun. We celebrated Dr. Seuss at school and ran in a Creekside Fun Run. Olivia had her two besties over for a "Birthday Playdate" and we loved watching cute baby June grow. We continued playing soccer and dancing ballet and enjoyed a road rally at PreK. The lows of the month included nonstop germs for poor Livi and our water heater leaking with a defective part and raining through the ceiling.  What a mess!!  We ran to and fro all month long and of course loved the moments spent with friends and family along the way. The Bean is NINE

This March we celebrated Isabelle's 9th birthday. Her last year before double digits and Ben and I cannot believe that our first born is already 9 years old. Ben signed up to be the WatchDog at school on her actual birthday and Isabelle loved having her dad by her side all day. She thought a roller skating party would be a blast and so we got to work planning another fabulous event. She picked matching neon shirts for all of her favorite friends and she was so excited when she found wild knee socks in her budget too. We met at our house for a little dancing and snacking and then made our way to Sk8 Town for hours of skating fun. Isabelle was definitely not the best skater, but she kept trying and by the end had made great progress. Since Belle isn't a big cake eater, we opted for ice cream instead and followed up our skating with dessert at Baskin Robbins. It was the perfect day spent celebrating our favorite 9 year old and we are so grateful that she has so many cute friends to share time with.






Isabelle at 9 years old is very confident and happy. She loves to play sports and excels in soccer and basketball. She leads the 3rd grade girls at Creekside Forest in Mileage Club and although she is skinny mini, she has passion and loves to be active. Isabelle also loves ballet and shows some real promise in class. She always is excited to go to dance class and we spend time EVERY SINGLE DAY dancing. Isabelle is very smart and school is easy peasy for her. She rarely studies and also rarely misses anything on her tests. She is well liked by friends and seems to have the whole world in the palm of her hand. She still has a very soft spot for animals and has been over the moon with Grandpa's new dog Kee becoming a member of the family. Isabelle is a good example to Olivia and although she struggles to not ALWAYS correct her little sister, she is most of the time patient and kind to her biggest fan. We often feel overwhelmed parenting sweet Isabelle since we are learning as we go and I know that the coming months and years are going to be a big learning curve for us all. Can't we just freeze her at 9? We love you, Isabelle. You are a giant ray of sunshine in our family.

Spring Break with LOTS of Cosbys

Spring Break always comes quick in Texas. It is usually the first or second week of March and it feels like we go right from "winter" to Spring Break. Since we had just spent a week in California and the timing worked out to visit with Uncle Joseph before he planned to leave for a mission in Paraguay, we decided a trip to Dallas would be ideal. Silly enough, Isabelle and Olivia had different Spring Breaks this year so we sent Liv to school one day and then skipped the rest of the week. We packed the girls in the car in their pjs and thought they would fall asleep on our drive up and it would be quick and easy. Of course they just could not drift off so we made it to Dallas frazzled and wide awake way too late.

All of the Cosby siblings were able to arrange to meet in Flower Mound for a few days so we spent the rest of the week in cousin heaven. We went to the park, out to lunch, sang lots and lots of songs, played hours of make-believe and just had a fun time being lazy together. It was fun for the girls to get to visit with so many family members at once and it was nice to see Uncle Joe before he departed. Of course the time flew by and before long we were driving back to Houston and heading back to school, but this time with new favorite memories of our Cosby extended family. Families are forever!
