November is one of the better months in Houston. It is finally cool enough to not melt and it is also the beginning of the holiday season. We kept busy this November wrapping up another awesome soccer season with Isabelle, visiting Huntsman with the 5th grade and being shocked when President Trump won the 2016 Presidential Election. Olivia lost another tooth, it was the 50th day of school, we had Sunday dinner with Grandpa and we kept practicing for the Nutcracker. We went to the library per Olivia's request and visited our new Exxon for a slurpee. The girls were good to remember to fill out their daily gratitude journal from Aunt Tara and we all 4 had a blast kicking off the Christmas season at SeaWorld with Grandma Ruth and Grandpa Van. November, as expected, was a good month.
Thanksgiving was extra special this year. Not only were all the Christensens together but we also celebrated my dad's retirement courtesy of Exxonmobil.
The girls loved playing with their cousins as usual and Isabelle was especially glad that she had a partner in crime with Max. We ran in the Annual Coles Crossing Turkey Trot and Black Friday shopped like usual. We played at the park, took some new family pictures and enjoyed too much yummy food. We loved getting dressed up and celebrating at Kirbys Steak House with several tables of former colleagues of my dads at ExxonMobil. The kids all did their best to use their manners and we all tried new foods we may not have eaten otherwise. It was a once in a lifetime night to hear the many kind stories and compliments that were shared as people made toasts in honor of Dr. Lee E. Christensen and I was so glad we all could be there together.
We definitely felt grateful this Thanksgiving. 2016 has been good to the Christensen family.
