June starts the summer!!!

Hooray for summer!! The girls and I could not have been more ready for fun, sun and friends. We started June off with a trip to Dallas where we met ALL of our Cosby cousins (minus Uncle Joe) and had fun at the lake/pool, at Papa's house and hosting a mini baby shower for Aunt Natalie. The girls loved playing with so many little friends and it was great to reconnect with cousins we don't see nearly enough.

After our awesome vacation in Dallas, we booked it home in time for a week at Camp Invention. We debated signing up for this STEM camp because it was all day long and a chunk of change, but both girls LOVED every day of it. They both made quick friends with other campers and created different robots and science inventions all week long. Ben and I agreed afterwards that it was worth every penny.

The rest of the month we spent swimming at the pool and Olivia mastered her stroke in swim lessons. We played with Leo and June and melted at Leo's baseball game. Olivia was brave and had a tooth pulled that just would not come out and we celebrated Ben on Fathers Day. Our friends the Becksteads stopped by for a short visit on their way to Las Vegas and we finally got to see our besties, The Droz family, for a few days while they were back in town. June was a great start to our summer break. Lazy mornings and sunshine everyday is a good combination.

The Woodlands Civic Ballet presents Fairies, Swans and Sprinkles of Magic

Isabelle and Olivia were thrilled like usual when it was time to perform in their spring ballet production. Grammie and Tara both flew in for the occasion and both girls were graceful and smiled ear to ear as they danced their practiced parts. Olivia danced as a buttercup in Cinderella and she and Annie were both promoted after the show to Intermediate Ballet in the fall. She knew the dance well and I am always proud that she can hear the music so well and dances right on the beat, even when it is a slow step which causes you to take your time. Isabelle danced as a Polish Princess in Paquita and we were so proud of her as this was her first time to dance in the Advanced Ballet class. She was the smallest in the class by a chunk and was the only 4th grader. The steps were dramatically tougher than she has danced before but she held her own and was lovely. No one would have guessed, other than her small size, that she was knew to the class. Brava girls! Brava!

School is out for Summer...finally!!

School is exhausting for all 4 of us. Early mornings, homework, after school commitments, the list goes on and on. This year was especially trying as Olivia was never really thrilled to go to Kindergarten. Poor Mrs. Parker had some serious medical complications this year which left her class with a substitute from October on. It was rough. But, Isabelle loved her 4th grade teachers, despite facing some "girl drama", and somehow we all got thru and were more than ready to celebrate on the last day of school!

Lucky for me, Grammie was able to join us for the last day of school class parties, so while I ran back and forth she and I passed in the hall. Both girls partied with Luau themes and loved letting loose a little bit with their friends. The brightest post in Olivia's Kindergarten year was meeting her new bestie, Vera. They loved being together so much and traded BFF jewelry to wear all summer long while they were apart. Both girls soared academically as expected and we were all fine to say GOODBYE to the 2015-2016 school year!
